About Us
Meet Kwasi Sarfo, Founder of SARFO LAW
Kwasi Sarfo is a dedicated lawyer specializing in family, immigration, and criminal law, with additional expertise in providing notary services. He has appeared before both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto and Brampton, consistently advocating for his clients’ rights with passion and integrity.
Kwasi’s journey is one of resilience and commitment to justice. As a first-generation immigrant from Ghana who grew up in an underserved Toronto community and experienced poverty firsthand, Kwasi brings a deep understanding of the access to justice issues faced by marginalized individuals. His early experiences as a community development worker at Green Change and a case manager at Horizons for Youth, organizations dedicated to supporting priority neighborhoods like Jane-Finch, were instrumental in his decision to pursue a legal career.

Kwasi’s commitment to human rights is reflected in his work at institutions such as the University of Waterloo, where he provided direct support to students, staff, and faculty encountering racism, discrimination, harassment, and workplace violence. This dedication to justice and equality is the foundation of his legal practice.
A graduate of the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2021, Kwasi completed the Law Practice Program (LPP) at Toronto Metropolitan University and articled at Heckburn Law, where he focused on family law matters. His legal education encompassed a broad range of subjects, including family law, criminal law, alternative dispute resolution, trial advocacy, wrongful convictions, and international law. In recognition of his academic excellence and community involvement, Kwasi was nominated for the University of Ottawa’s Legal Leaders for Diversity Trust Fund Award in 2019.
Beyond his legal credentials, Kwasi also holds a master’s degree in environmental studies from York University, where he was awarded the Unilever Canada Graduate Award in Environmental Studies for academic excellence in 2012. He earned his undergraduate degree in political science and sociology from York University and holds a diploma in police foundations from Humber College, where he received the Donald Bernard Memorial Award in 2005.
In addition to his legal practice, Kwasi is deeply committed to community service. He has volunteered for the North York Harvest Food Bank, earning a certificate of appreciation in 2012 for outstanding volunteerism and fundraising efforts. Outside of his professional life, Kwasi enjoys playing basketball with friends and mentoring marginalized youth, continuing to give back to the community that shaped his values and aspirations.
